Yellow Tea

Yellow tea is an increasingly rare and expensive variety of tea.

The process for making yellow tea is similar to that of green but with an added step of encasing and steaming the tea, This allows the tea to oxidize at a light rate to remove the characteristic grassy smell of green tea.

Yellow tea category contain a huge variety of tea, here are some of the most famous yellow tea:

Jun Shan Yin Zhen (bud tea), from Hunan Province

Meng Ding Huang Ya (bud tea), from Mt. Meng, Ya'an, Sichuan Province

Huo Shan Huang Ya (small and large leaf tea), from Mount Mogan, Zhejiang Province

Yellow teas are mainly from Hunan, Anhui, Sichuan, Zhejiang, Guizhou and Guangdong provinces in China.
